It has been the third lesson already. This course is going mega fast. I really try to enjoy and learn as much as I can.
It’s easier for me to arrange models these days… I know now to approach flight attendants or mom’s on maternity leave. Friends or friends from friends, they all love to be my model. I have learned how to be better at finding them.
Nienke is my friend; she is a flight attendant for KLM and in between flights she could find some time for me. Nien loves makeup very much and thinks it’s great to act as a model. Not too long ago Nien and I met on our vacation in Miami via our mutual friend Marike. I then wrote an article on makeovers and I also used Nienke as a model. Nien doesn’t mind showing the before picture, without the makeup, as well. A lot of girls don’t really like that. I personally would not like it either, but I like to emphasise the difference. Because in the end you want to show off the effect!
The lesson was about lips and eye brows, a very useful lesson. I immediate worked on my own eyebrows once I was home because I saw that the hair on the inner corner was way too long. We were taught to draw hairs in the right colours, starting a little before the beginning of the eye brow. You comb the hair up with brush to give colour in between the hairs and eventually give a bit more length to the brow.
With the lips I have learned that every time episode emphises different forms of the lips. We defined the lips with a lip pencil. We coloured the lips with lipstick from a lipstick palette.
This palette we used:
The lipline should be completely covered not show any lines in a different colour. As a finishing touch I used a golden shimmer in the middle of the lower lip to create more volume.
What do you think about Nien?
